Certificate III in Wall and Floor Tiling

The Certificate III in Wall and Floor Tiling provides a trade outcome for individuals wishing to pursue a career as a wall and floor tiler in commercial and residential applications. Core units of competency in the qualification cover the requirements regarding common construction industry skills, in addition to the specialist work area. All construction-based skills recognition training and assessments must ideally be undertaken in environment, real workplace or at closely simulated environment. All competency units in this qualification are to be delivered according to those requirements. In order to ensure that all outcomes are met, an extended period of work placement is advisable. The National Code of Practice for Induction Training for Construction Work (ASCC 2007) specifies that a general induction program be completed before the candidate may enter a construction work site. This requirement is covered by a unit in the qualification.
